What is IP-Surveillance?
IP-Surveillance is a security system that gives users the ability to monitor and record video, audio over an IP (Internet Protocol-based) computer network such as a local area network (LAN) or the Internet.
The IP-Surveillance system use Video Server, IP Camera, PoE network switch, a PC for viewing, a NVR for recording, and a management software.
The management software is usually called CMS (Central Management Software).
The infrastructure based on the IP (Internet Protocol-based) make it very easy to use and very easy to manage remotely.
IP-Surveillance network system can be multi-directional (allowing information to be sent and received) between different devices. For instance, an IP Camera can send video, audio and other data (alarm, etc.) to the viewing and recording station, as well as receive instructions from the station that could activate doors or external alarms.
In addition, an IP Camera can communicate with several applications in parallel and perform various tasks such as detecting motion or sending different streams of video. For instance, an IP Camera can send video stream to NVR for recording, send another video stream to Network Matrix Decoder, and send another video stream to Command Station at the same time.
Such IP-Surveillance network system provides for greater performance possibilities and flexibility.
